Will single-song downloads be the death of music albums? I really hope that it’s not true. Personally, I still love albums, whether I buy them in digital format or physical. There’s magic created in an aural landscape. In fact, I wish that MP3 players would do a better job of making albums as well as songs an item. iTunes can shuffle by album, which is cool, but I want to easily be able to make playlists of whole albums. Unfortunately, the digital music revolution seems to be doing away with that. ID3 tags and players are all geared toward the organization of a collection of single songs, not the collection of an album. I really hope that albums are not lost forever.
