I bought four CDs last night. I really shouldn’t have, but I had this sudden desire for some Alison Krauss tunes. I’m not sure why, I’ve never been a fan, but she’s popped into my consciousness several times recently, both on the “Crossing Jordan” and “Buffy: The Vampire Slayer” soundtracks. I was reminded of how much I like songs like “Now That I’ve Found You”. There’s just something about her I find especially appealing. So we went to Best Buy yesterday and I picked up Now That I’ve Found You: A Collection and Forget About It by Ms. Krauss, as well as Chantal Kreviazuk’s What If It All Means Something and James Taylor’s James Taylor: Greatest Hits. I don’t really know much about Chantal, other than I loved her cover of “Leaving on a Jet Plane” for the Armageddon soundtrack, but it was on sale for $6.99 as a developing artist, so I gave it a chance. There have also been many moments where I’ve disliked James Taylor, but his best songs, like “Fire & Rain”, are quite good.
So I have new tunes, and that makes me happy. Plus, it gives me more stuff to listen to in the car!
Baby, now that I’ve found you
I won’t let you go
I build my world around you
I need you so, baby even though
You don’t need me, you don’t need me no, no.
