I just binge-watched “13 Reasons Why”. Wow. Powerful stuff about teenagers, bullying, suicide. If you have Netflix, I highly recommend it.
There are some really visceral scenes of bullying, rape, and suicide, so be forewarned, though I think it’s very worth watching.
It struck me how social media and such these days can expand the influence of bullying behavior, and yet the emotions are easily identifiable from when I was in school.
I also think it shows how hard it can be to ask for help, how hard it can be to know when or how or if to give it, and how hard it can be to see past our own problems to the people who are looking to connect or who are having their own problems.
